Positions

You are still at the beginnen of your law studies but would like to discover the working world of a large law firm? Then DORDA offers an opportunity to start your practice as a junior student. Junior students work together with all the firm’s employees and thus get to know all the processes of a large law firm in a holistic way. You will need to have completed the entry exam to your law studies (STEOP at the University of Vienna Law Faculty).

In addition to minor research tasks, junior students work on a variety of other tasks that are important to the day-to-day running of our law firm, mainly in administration in and around the law firm (errands to courts and the authorities, editing scripts and presentations, proofreading contracts, preparing seminars and events etc) With this experience, you will be well prepared for the next step in your career.

DORDA offers 26 job opportunities per year for junior students (10 in the winter and summer semesters and 2 in each of the months of July, August and September):

Period From To Duration Hours per week Application deadline
Winter semester October to February 5 months 1 x 10h/week (marginal) 1 May
Sommer semester March to June 4 months 1 x 10h/week (marginal) 1 October
Holiday period July, August or September 1 month 40h/week (full time) 15 February

Have you already gained experience in a law firm, but are not yet ready to prove yourself as a trainee? A position as a research student is the best way to prepare for a traineeship. You will need to be close to completing the second stage of your studies (with exams passed in civil and corporate law) or your Bachelor‘s degree.

Research students conduct legal research for all our practice groups from our in-house research centre (e.g. research of relevant literature and  decisions, preparing legal questions and drafting short memos). Our experienced librarian Carmen Böhm provides support and guidance if you have any questions.

DORDA offers 7 job opportunities per year for research students (2 each in the winter and summer semesters and 1 in each of the months of July, August and September):

Period From To Duration Hours per week Application deadline
Winter semester October to February 5 months 2 x 5h/week (marginal) 1 May
Summer semester March to June 4 months 2 x 5h/week (marginal) 1 October
Holiday period July,  August or September 1 month 40h/week (full time) 15 February

Are you already advanced in or have you already completed your law studies? Are you interested in working as a trainee lawyer and would you like to discover the working world at DORDA? Then our traineeship is the perfect challenge!

Choose your preferred practice group and, as a full member of the group, you will get the chance to expand your knowledge and put it into practice. You will need to have completed the second stage of your studies or your bachelor's degree. Traineeships are also possible during court practice or doctoral studies. The working hours (2 x 5h/week) can be arranged flexibly with the team. Trainees work in a practice group on legal matters (including drafting pleadings, correspondence, contracts and memos, carrying out legal research, attending meetings and negotiations, assistance with publications).

DORDA offers more than 40 job opportunities a year (10 each in the winter and summer semesters and 7-8 in each of the months of July, August and September):

A curriculum vitae, a letter of motivation, and a current transcript of records are required. If you are still in the early stages of your studies, you can also send us your high school diploma.

You don't have to have an A average to qualify for an internship with us. Mixed grades are perfectly fine. Let us know in your motivational letter why you@DORDA is a perfect fit for you and DORDA.

Previous experience is not necessary for our student program, although it may of course be an advantage for you personally.

DORDA needs people who enjoy delivering clarity. As the name suggests, your motivation letter should help us to understand your motivation for applying for an internship at DORDA and, ideally, convince us that you@DORDA is perfectly right for you.

You can apply at any time, but please take note of our application deadlines to ensure that your application arrives on time (1 May for the next winter semester, 1 October for the next summer semester and 15 February for the next holiday period).

First things first: we look forward to seeing you! Casual business attire is perect (gentlemen need not wear a tie and jacket).

Trainees work directly as members of a practice group. We will take note of your preferred areas of law at your interview and try to take this into account. The actual allocation is down to us, as there is only one trainee position per practice group.

Junior students support the office's daily routine with minor research work and a variety of other tasks, mainly in administration, such as running errands to courts and the authorities, editing lecture notes and presentations, proofreading contracts, preparing seminars and events etc. You will work in a team with other junior students and will get to know the entire law firm.

Research students conduct legal research for all practice groups (e.g. researching relevant literature and decisions, preparing legal questions and darfting short memos). They are supported and guided by our experienced librarian Carmen Böhm.

Trainees work directly in one of our practice groups (drafting pleadings, correspondence, contracts, memos, carrying out legal research, attending meetings and negotiations, assistance with publications). Trainees are integrated into the team in the same way as a newly qualified junior associate and can expand their knowledge and put it into practice.
