New Senior Associate at DORDA - Benedikt Kessler

Banking law and transaction expert Benedikt Kessler (33) joined the DORDA Banking & Finance team in September 2019. The accomplished lawyer specialises in banking & finance, corporate/M&A as well as insolvency law and restructurings and boasts many years of experience in advising banks. Before joining DORDA, the native of Vorarlberg had been with the Austrian firm fwp since 2013.

Benedikt Kessler most recently advised on the restructuring of the Steinhoff Group.

The passionate musician studied law at the University of Vienna (Mag. iur. 2009) and completed a second study of economics (Mag. rer.soc.oec.) at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration (WU). Graduating in 2013, he then pursued a master's degree in business law at WU. During his studies he spent a semester abroad at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland. After completing his legal practice in 2011, he started his career as an associate at Fellner Wratzfeld & Partner where he continued as an attorney until his recent move to DORDA. Benedikt Kessler was admitted to the bar in 2017. He is the author of numerous international specialist publications.

Before studying law, Benedikt Kessler studied at the Conservatory of Music in Feldkirch and Neuchâtel. Already at a young age he was fascinated by the trombone and was able to take part in numerous orchestras and competitions in French-speaking Switzerland as well as later through his studies.
