DORDA boosts four practices with five new attorneys

Wednesday, 26 September 2018

DORDA Attorneys at Law continues its path of growth by appointing four home grown lawyers as attorney at law, complemented by one top level lateral hire. In the course of the year Michael Binder (banking and capital market law), Christian Büttner (civil procedure law and insurance), Daniela Firulovic (white-collar crime), Erhard Perl (real estate law, private clients) and Marie-Luise Pugl (real estate law) were promoted from associate to attorney status.

"We are delighted about the next generation, which shines with its expertise, team spirit and personality. When it comes to appointments, we rely primarily on people who have started out with us as associates and who are familiar with our high-quality standards and live by them. In addition, there are also lateral hirings, which we do very selectively when we want to strengthen specific areas. It also enriches us with their fresh external perspective," says Managing Partner Axel Anderl.

Michael Binder (48) is an expert in banking and capital markets law and has been an attorney at DORDA since 2017. Prior to that, he worked for several years for banks in leading legal department positions. This includes eight years with Raiffeisen Centrobank, where he was also authorised signatory. As a capital market expert, he was responsible for structured products, equity capital markets, sales, trading, IT and real estate law. Michael also has extensive international experience in Central and Eastern Europe, where he advised on listings on the Bucharest and Warsaw stock exchanges.

Christian Büttner (32) joined DORDA in 2013 and was admitted to the bar in May 2018. He specialises in insurance and insurance supervisory law as well as general civil law and civil procedure law. He is also active in the areas of restructuring and insolvency as well as data protection. Furthermore, Christian Büttner is a trained Japanologist. He speaks fluent Japanese and has relevant professional experience in Japan.

Daniela Firulovic (29) is an attorney in DORDA’s Dispute Resolution team where she specialises in white collar crime and criminal defence. Daniela Firulovic has been with the firm since 2013 where she represents and supports victims, private parties and victims in criminal proceedings. She advises companies in internal investigations and dawn raids. In addition, she regularly works for clients in financial and administrative criminal proceedings. Daniela Firulovic was admitted to the bar in the beginning of 2018.

Erhard Perl (40) specialises in real estate law and real estate transactions as well as private clients. Erhard Perl started his legal career as a notary candidate and notary substitute. Later, he switched to a commercial law firm to engage in the legal profession in the areas of real estate and private clients. Among other things, he completed a postgraduate education in real estate management (MBA 2012) and became a member of the International Association of Real Estate Professions (FIABCI). He was admitted to the bar in 2018 and is the author of publications about private clients and foundations.

Marie-Luise Pugl (29) was admitted to the bar this year and has been working in the Real Estate Practice at DORDA since 2013. She is an expert in real estate law, specialising in construction and developer contract law as well as tenancy and condominium law.
